A group of children from the YMCA Beyond the Bell program had the opportunity to follow their food from planting, to picking, to cooking, and finally, to eating.
The entire experience took place at Pearle Hospitality's Earth to Table Farm in Flamborough.
Back in June, the children visited the farm and planted a variety of vegetables including tomatoes, peppers, onions and potatoes. They came back to the farm on October 2nd to harvest their crops and make pizza using the fresh produce.
Bread Bar chef Jeff Crump was on hand to guide the children through the pizza making process.
This was a unique experience to educate the kids on where their food comes from.
